Genshin Impact 4.0 Preview Reveals New Region, Characters, And More!

Rumors have been circulating widely for a period, but today, HoYoverse has officially unveiled Genshin Impact‘s significant 4.0 update. As anticipated, version 4.0 introduces the fresh Fontaine region, a water-themed realm described as a “center of culture, art, and technology.” Essentially, the locale possesses a touch of European steampunk flair. As per HoYoverse, Fontaine is a place where “trials have transformed into noteworthy public spectacles at the Opera Epiclese.” Additionally, the latest core Archon story quest will present players with the opportunity to “witness a masterful display of magic by Lyney and Lynette, along with a continuous trial.” Moreover, Fontaine allows for underwater exploration and combat. Undoubtedly, for numerous enthusiasts, the most thrilling aspect of any update is the introduction of new characters. In version 4.0, this includes the 5-star Lyney and the 4-star Lynette and Freminet. Here’s a brief overview of them…

Lyney is a 5-star Pyro bow-wielder. His Elemental Skill unleashes a barrage of fireworks, while his Elemental Burst turns him into a “Grim-Malkin Cat” that increases his movement speed and allows him to do Pyro damage to anything he bumps into.

Lynette is a 4-star Anemo sword-wielder. Her Elemental Skill is a sword thrust that can restore her HP, and her Elemental Burst will summon a “Bogglecat Box” that attracts enemy aggro while dealing damage.

Finally, Freminet is a 4-star Cryo claymore-wielder. His Elemental Skill causes him to enter the special state “Pers Time” that allows him to inflict Shatter and other powerful attacks. His Elemental Burst will allow him to deal Cryo AoE damage and further buff his Elemental Skill.

Lyney and Lynette will be immediately accessible for unlocking via Genshin Impact’s gacha system when 4.0 is released, while Freminet will make his debut a bit later. As customary, HoYoverse is also hinting at the arrival of several other characters with the 4.0 updates. We catch a glimpse of Furina (the Hydro Archon), Neuvillette (the long-haired judge), Navia (the elegantly attired lady with the hat and long blonde hair), and Clorinde (the girl donning the captain’s uniform with a sword).
