Honkai: Star Rail, a new game from Genshin Impact creator HoYoverse is out now! Following release date confirmation after the conclusion of closed beta testing, the new 3D role-playing game is available worldwide on PC, iOS, and Android. And as expected, Star Rail is off to a great start. The RPG title already had over 10 million pre-registration secured. And with more players joining across the globe, the momentum regarding early adoption is showing no sign of waning. The proof is 20 million downloads in a single day since the global launch. As hinted in preview trailers of various characters in action, the turned-based JRPG has all the ingredients to deliver the coolest experience to the fans of the genre while attracting a new cohort to expand its base.
HoYoverse, the Chinese developer responsible for the popular Genshin RPG, has started rollout of its new open-world RPG.
But unlike Genshin Impact’s real-time action, the latest game from HoYoverse is a space fantasy based on turn-based gameplay mechanics.
The storyline of Honkai: Star Rail revolves around players roaming throughout the galaxy in search of discovering the hidden secrets about the proverbial Cancer Of All Worlds. However, at launch the explorable regions are limited to the snowy planet Jarilo-VI, the Herta Space Station, and the sizeable Xianzhou Luofu spaceship.
- Not content with the laws of the common world, the Genius Society’s Herta set her sights on the unexplained existences of the galaxy, expecting those distant mysteries to satisfy her curiosity. To this end, Herta led the establishment of a museum-like starship and launched it towards the Star Rail, starting the research work to seal all strange existences among the stars. And the famous Herta Space Station was born.
- Traversing across the snow plains, you can get a full view of Belobog, the only spot on the ice-cold world of Jarilo-VI that barely fits the definition of “a warm place.” As the only remaining city with human civilization, Belobog has been given many grandiose titles, such as the last bastion of mankind against the Eternal Freeze and the land blessed by Qlipoth.
- The Xianzhou Luofu is one of the six flagships of the Xianzhou Alliance. It sails in the endless ocean of stars like a one-way arrow, shooting toward the Lord of the Hunt’s nemesis. After the war with the Denizens of Abundance, the Luofu traveled between densely populated interstellar regions, trading and conducting cultural exchange between different worlds. They signed agreements with the Interastral Peace Corporation and helped many worlds ravaged by the Denizens of Abundance to rebuild their ecosystem. People arrived at the Luofu to seek medical treatment, study, and trade, as thrones of visitors fill the docks.
Also taking a cue from Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail features a number of companions possessing different personalities and abilities. During their journeys, players can meet March 7th, Bailu, Dan Heng, Kafka, Yuan, and Serval.

You can play Honkai: Star Rail is playable on PC (including via the Epic Games Store), and mobile. According to official sources, HoYoverse is currently working on the PlayStation version of the game which is arriving soon.
