Basically, Honkai: Star Rail is a free-to-play tactical RPG set in a sci-fi world. Chinese developer HoYoverse, previously known as miHoYo, has announced CBT signups are now open live on the official website for testers. However, the official sources have not revealed how long the beta would stay live.
Since Honkai: Star Rail is coming hot on the heels of the mega success of Genshin Impact, the new game is expected to draw significant attention. That said, the gameplay dynamics are different in that they hinge on the basic turn-based combat system.
