The much-awaited augmented reality-based game in The Witcher franchise will launch on July 21st. Developer CD Projekt Red in collaboration with Spokko SP. z o.o. officially confirms The Witcher Monster Slayer to arrive this month on all major mobile platforms.
After a successful launch of The Witcher mobile card game, creators now aim to delve into a realm of Augmented Reality (AR) with the pre-registration of this monster-hunting AR mobile game already open on Google Play Store for compatible devices.
It goes without saying that the Witcher games are among the most popular modern gaming properties. Such is the level of enthusiasm surrounding the beloved franchise, that Netflix earmarked a heavy budget for producing a hit TV series featuring all the original characters. Already a fan favorite of millions across the world on PC and console, the mobile version is about to receive its due attention in the form of The Witcher: Monster Slayer.
Spokko handles the creative production and publishing process. Besides they seem to have done a decent job with regards to staying true to the original concept with a slight twist in the story which takes place before the protagonist became the fierce legend in the original Witcher from CD Projekt Red.
This could come as a bit of a letdown to the hardcore fandom which won’t witness established heroes making an appearance in this game. However, you’ll get to play an augmented reality RPG set in the world of The Witcher on the go.
