On July 12, Apple decided to unveil the initial public beta of its forthcoming updates, iOS 17 and iPadOS 17. Although the full version is not coming out until the launch iPhone 15 series in September, but it is now possible to download iOS 17 wallpapers before the global rollout. Following the release of a revised developer beta for iOS 17 and beta 5 for iOS 16.6, Apple has now officially launched the iOS 17 public beta for all compatible iPhone models.
iOS 17 Public Beta Is Here!
If you had refrained from installing the developer beta, you can now download and install the first public beta of iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 on your iPhone and iPad. In terms of the developer beta, it is currently in its third beta cycle. Presumably, the first public beta of iOS 17 is the same update with a different name. If you are enrolled in Apple’s public beta testing program, you can download iOS 17 immediately.
To download the public beta of iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 on your iPhone or iPad, simply navigate to Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Updates > and select the iOS 17 or iPadOS 17 Public Beta option. The update will be made available to you over the air. Apple has also eliminated the need to install configuration profiles for the updates. However, ensure that your Apple ID is linked to the account used for signing up for the beta testing program.

iOS 17 introduces numerous additions, making it a significant update. Upon its release, we can anticipate the inclusion of a new StandBy feature that transforms your iPhone into a smart display when connected to a charger and placed horizontally. Additionally, widgets will be accessible on both the Lock Screen and Home Screen, which is a highly anticipated addition.
Moreover, these widgets are interactive, allowing you to view additional information without having to open the specific app. AirDrop will also receive new features, such as NameDrop for quicker contact sharing and Contact Posters. Apple will continue to release subsequent public and developer betas in the future for testing purposes, ensuring a flawless platform before the final release. As for the official release, iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 will be available for download on all compatible iPhone and iPad models sometime in September, coinciding with the launch of the new iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 models.
