Red Dead Redemption 2 for PC Release Update

The Madia Markt online retail store in Sweden is offering on its website that an unconfirmed version of Red Dead Redemption 2 for PC might actually be coming your way. The purported launch date is showing December 31, 2019, which is a provisional date retailers usually go with when the official product launch is far from confirmed. Just like its predecessor, the PC gamers aren’t getting any love from the developers of RDR2, at least not in the near term.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is the most hotly anticipated and perhaps the biggest game release of 2018. The official launch of RDR2 on PS4 and Xbox One is just around the corner. Rockstar Studios’ most ambitious project in years is about to see the light of day on October 26. However, to the chagrin of many PC gamers, the developers are rolling out their follow-up to the hugely successful Red Dead Redemption only on the PlayStation and Xbox platforms at launch. But an unexpected hint on the internet has surfaced which alludes to the possibility that the game might be released for PCs after all. Although nothing is ironclad in this regard, and since no other credible source has chipped in to corroborate this development, we would take this news with a pinch of salt, for now.

The only confirmed version of Red Dead Redemption 2 is coming to PS4 and Xbox One. This is not a unique position as far as Rockstar is concerned. The company prefers consoles over PC for some reason; maybe a deal with Microsoft and Sony is the reason Red Dead Redemption 2 for PC remains a distant possibility.

We must also not overlook the chances of error here. It could be that the retailer has made a mistake and posted a false advertisement which may not reflect the ground reality about the release of Red Dead Redemption 2.

At present, all we are aware of is that the RDR 2 will be released on October 26 on Xbox One and PS4. Rockstar is not divulging any information whether the game will be able on other platforms. However, a resume of a former employee who worked on the game’s project mentions RDR2 for PC.
