Xiaomi Launches POCO X3 NFC With Fast Screen Refresh Rate, Quad Cameras, Bigger Battery, And Other Delightful Specs

In a rather subdued launch, Xiaomi has quietly lifted the curtains on the POCO X3 NFC mid-range mobile. A combination of decent internal and external specs for a price that is not going to be too steep for most to afford makes this device a palatable entry.

In terms of pure raw power, the POCO X3 may not be a match for the flagship POCO device. Having said that, it is by no means a slouch when it comes to performing its intended tasks either. It delivers more than enough power to run games while ensuring no compromise on the playing experience.

Now let’s discuss its main highlight features one by one.

Design

First up is the design. The Poco X3 NFC is a lower-tier version of the Poco X2 released earlier this year. However, compared to the higher-end model this new handheld device departs in terms of its distinctive design.

The rear camera layout houses quadruple lenses in a stylish departure from similar other devices. The polycarbonate rear cover has a texture strip stretching from the top to the bottom, and a POCO brand logo stamped on the said stripe. The IP53 water resistance rating means that the device should be sturdy enough to survive in the rain or occasional drop in water.

Display

The POCO X3 NFC features a 6.67-inch FHD+ screen that has a refresh rate of 120Hz and a sampling rate of 240Hz.

The LCD screen is composed of HDR10, FHD+, and Gorilla Glass 5. There is a punch-hole cutout in the right-hand corner of the device instead of a center-mounted pill-shaped front-facing camera layout.

Processor

This is the first POCO phone powered by the Snapdragon 732G chipset that was launched just recently. The upgraded SoC is a step up from the previous Snapdragon 730G processor seen in the Poco X2, offering a boost in clock speed to the main CPU and GPU.

The new processing silicon chip renders graphics at a 15 percent higher rate than previously. This comes handy when playing games with a high refresh rate.

Battery

A massive 5,160mAh battery housed inside the chassis handles the critical function on a device that has to constantly render visuals at higher refresh rates than similar other devices.

The big battery allows you to use the device for up to two days of moderate usage. The 33W charger bundled inside the box helps with the quick charging.

Camera

A quad-camera consists of a 64MP main sensor (IMX682), a 13MP ultra-wide shooter, and a couple of 2MP sensors for taking macro shots and depth effects respectively.

On the front side, a 20MP camera takes sharp selfies.

Other Features

Other main features of POCO X3 NFC included a fingerprint scanner, a 3.5mm port, NFC, Bluetooth 5.1m WiFi 5, USB Type-C, and MIUI 12 Poco skin based on Android 10. it is expected that the Android 11 update will be released sometime in the future.
