The Batman Arkham Origins Developer Confirms Two New DC Games

The developer behind highly acclaimed Batman: Arkham Origin is working on two new DC games, one of which will be an open-world adventure exclusive for consoles. There has been a lot of speculation that the Montreal based WB Games studio is in the midst of giving shape to its two upcoming titles. The studio’s chief designer finally settled the rumors in the Humans of Gaming podcast saying that they can confirm that the team is gearing up for the work on two new games based on the DC Comics universe.

Osama Dorias said, “Of the project that I just left, because there are two in progress, I can only say that it is a great open-world console game, based on the DC universe, so it’s really amazing,” WB Games Montreal creator went on to add, “I can not say anything else, it’s very early and it’s not announced, but it’s going to be amazing.”

When asked if he could spill more as to the nature of the main title, he insisted that “it’s a great game for console, open-world, based on the DC universe.” Upon further inquiry about which DC Comics story the studio intends to capture in the games, the chief designer admitted that it will take inspiration from major DC franchises he loves. “It was one of the reasons why I joined Warner Bros,” he said, without giving away much in the way of details with regards to the project. Recent talks of the possibility of the team working to secure official licensing agreements are still underway, but, as of yet, nothing specific is known in this matter.

It must be noted that the rumors mill started churning in relation to the Rocksteady games last year, but so far there has been little to no information related to title names and concept. Stay tuned to keep abreast of all the latest developments as this story developers in the coming weeks.
