League of Legends: Wild Rift Open Beta Arrives This Month In US And Canada! Here Are Details

League of Legends: Wild Rift spinoff of the PC version is slated to arrive later this month! Developer Riot Games recently announced that the upcoming LOL Mobile Beta will open on March 29th in the US and Canada.

The highly-anticipated beta launch of the League of Legends: Wild Rift, also known as LoL Mobile, follows the successful beta release already covering regions including Middle East, Europe, Russia, Taiwan, and other places since 2020.

And now, we have a few weeks to go until the first Open Beta testing phase of the mobile version of League of Legends earnestly begins rolling out in the North American territory.

Far from directly porting the computer version, Riot Games is introducing several new additions to the gameplay “built from scrath” to deliver a unique Wild Rift playing experience optimized on Android and iOS platforms.

For those already using a European account to get their hands on the beta early, developers have uploaded a blog post explaining the process to move your account to the correct region.

Gamers in Noth American region will gain full access to Wild Rift open beta features. Although Wild Rift beta is currently available only on smartphones and tablets, the game is expected to release on consoles at some point in the future.

LOL Mobile Wild Rift Twitter Announcements:

The official Twitter account of the game @Wildrift posted the following Tweet to convey the imminent unveiling of the Regional Open Beta!

Riot Games has set its sight on providing the best mobile gameplay by offering players to test a totally revamped control system designed specifically for Lol Mobile: Wild Rift. The design direct has this to say about the control scheme.

We knew from the beginning that we wanted to support mobile and console players with our control scheme. As a result, we put all of our efforts into getting the core twin-stick experience feeling great which we feel is ideal for these platforms. One of our goals is to restore League PC’s control scheme, specifically of using a mouse to click and select a target and bringing that feeling to touchscreens and controllers. That’s why you’ll see features like the yellow crosshair indicator when selecting a target. We will be adding some additional customization so players can match their preferences (and will continue to expand these options over time), though it’s unlikely we’ll add a completely new control scheme such as tap controls because the game has been designed specifically for a twin-stick setup.

Wrap Up:

LOL Mobile was to launch last year but got delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic. The full release date is not yet confirmed. That said, the final game lunch shouldn’t take too long following the closing date for the beta.
