iPhone 14 Pro Max Battery Way Better Than iPhone 13 Pro Max – A New Test Shows

Apple launched its latest and greatest lineup of flagship smartphones just recently. The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro models come with significant improvements on both software and hardware fronts. Although the standard handsets in the series lack observable changes in the physical design department, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, on the other hand, feature a bigger camera setup, an exclusive Dynamic Island, and much more. iPhone 14 and 14 Pro mobile categories also come equipped with the ability to establish Emergency SOS contact via satellite. But it’s the iPhone 14 Pro Max that outshines all the latest iPhones as well as last year’s high-end iPhone 13 Pro Max model when it comes to battery life. That’s according to a new test. Keep reading to learn more about it.

iPhone 14 Pro Max With A Smaller Capacity Outlasts iPhone 13 Pro Max In Battery Test

The new battery test result arrives thanks to folks over there at Tom’s Guide, who set up real-world usage scenarios to gauge the battery performance of the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

As per the test outcome, the iPhone 14 Pro Max battery lasted 14 hours and 42 minutesĀ on average while running on a single charge. Whereas the 2021 iPhone 13 Pro Max battery managed to lastĀ 12 hours and 16 minutes in total. That’s quite a lot of difference in battery timing between the two handsets. Almost 2 and a half hours to be exact.

Overall, Apple’s most premium phone grabs a second spot with the Asus ROG Phone 6 Pro taking the top place.

The test also shows that the latest flagship lost only 30 percent of battery charge after five hours of use. The test consisted of common daily tasks most users are likely to perform on the mobile device such as app downloading, playing music, recording videos, and taking photos.

Tom’s Guide further remarked:

Anecdotally, the iPhone 14 Pro Max fared quite well in terms of endurance. After charging close to 90% and then using the phone from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. for downloading apps, playing music and shooting photos and videos, the phone’s battery only dropped to 60%.

As suggested by several reports that all iPhone 14 models boast bigger battery capacities apart from the iPhone 14 Pro Max. Therefore, the test results showing a jump in battery life come as a surprise. One reason for better battery management on the iPhone 14 Pro Max relates to the more power-efficient A16 bionic chip. Additionally, the new LTPO display consumes less power than older iterations. Another factor playing a role in enhanced power saving is the variable refresh rate that drops to as low as 1Hz.

That’s all folks, for now. How has your experience been with the new iPhone 14 models? Let us know in the comments below.
