iOS 15 Public Beta 1 Release Date Announced! Here’s More

Apple has officially announced the first public beta release date of its upcoming iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 firmware for compatible models of iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices. iOS 15 public beta 1 and iPadOS 15 public beta 1 will accompany macOS 12, watchOS 8, and tvOS 15 public beta 1 on the same date.

The latest iOS mobile operating system bringing several major updates to the stock apps as well as iPadOS multitasking functionalities is already out for developers to early test new features.

Unfortunately, if you exist outside the Apple developer community, you are not eligible to download and install iOS 15 right away until full public rollout arrives at a later point in time. Here is everything you need to know about the non-developer version of iOS 15 and iPadOS 15.

iOS 15 Public Beta / iPadOS Public Beta Version 1.0 Confirmed For iPhone, iPad, And iPod Touch:

In a recently held virtual WWDC, Apple lifted the curtains on the next generation of operating systems for its various devices. In an online session, the Cupertino tech giant invited developers to week-long lab sessions and conversations on various engineering topics. Also, the company introduced to the world its new iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS for all compatible models of Apple hardware ranging from Mac, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Apple TV.

That said, it will take a while before any of the firmware becomes available in a fully baked form, most probably later this year. Although registered developers can obtain all of these versions currently available to download via dedicated channels, that doesn’t mean it will offer many benefits to the general public.

Keeping up with its recent trend, Apple will open iOS 15, iPadOS 15, tvOS 15, watchOS 8, and macOS 12 as free-to-download through the Apple Beta Software program. Those who are already a part of the Apple developer community, or newbies looking to register, can proceed to get their hands on the latest software sometime next month.

It is a shame that people outside of the developer group will have to wait a little longer to test the new firmware version but it’s safer to run a more stable iteration than to rush with a premature variant that could harm your Apple device. First releases rarely function as expected due to bugs, hitherto unidentified problems, and unknown issues. It is only after a trial and error method involving several weeks of stress-testing on different devices out in the real world that a program eventually attains a stable state.

Those of you wanting to experience the public beta can proceed with the public beta program registration now at beta.apple.com to reserve your spot in advance of the release in the next few weeks. You can sign up for free but do keep in mind the betas are far from perfect as they are not acknowledged as daily drivers meant to run on primary devices. So remember this bit before you decide to download and install.
