One of the developers working on the exploit shared the news via Twitter, albeit with a bit of a catch – while jailbreaking iOS 15 is achievable, it will only work up to iOS 15.1.1 or earlier versions. Of course, that’s better than nothing. With that said, the folks over there at Odyssey are also claiming to work on extending the support through to iOS 15.4.1.
If everything pans out according to the plan, the Cheyote jailbreak could even jailbreak the latest iPhone 13 and iPad mini 6.
Thankfully, jailbreaking older iPhones is relatively straightforward owing to a bootrom exploit that Apple can’t fix with a software update.

So if you’re looking to use a new jailbreak tool, there are prerequisites you need to follow for preparing your device. First of all, you should stick to earlier versions of iOS 15, specifically iOS 15.0 to iOS 15.4.1, and stay away from updating to the latest iOS 15.5 or later versions.
Since downgrading to the previous version is no longer an option, for now, iPhone models running iOS 15.5 or later would not receive an update until the jailbreak team adds support.
