Game developer miHoYo, the creator of Genshin Impact, seems intent on ramping up the inclusion of new characters to an already impressive array of the existing star cast. The latest version 2.0 of Genshin Impact RPG introduces several new characters into the mix. But that’s not it. For the first time, folks behind the hit role-playing game have promised the arrival of a guest character named Aloy which you might know from Horizon Zero Dawn and the upcoming Horizon Forbidden West games.
To stay true to Genshin’s traditional anime-inspired aesthetics, developers are going to remake Aloy in a style similar to other heroes in the series. To get a preview of the looks, which may irk some fans, see the officially released image of the Genshin Aloy, below.

In a related announcement, which would come as a piece of pleasant news to gamers, that despite having its genesis ensconced in a Sony-exclusive title, players on other platforms can play as Aloy. Initially, PlayStation owners will get month-long exclusive access after which the character will become available for others across PC, console, and mobile platforms.
Anyone with an adventure rank of 20 and more can select Aloy for free. There is no need to participate in the game’s gacha system to obtain the heroine. As to when you can add Aloy to your roaster, here is what you need to know…
Phase I
- After the Version 2.1 Update – Start of Version 2.2 Update Maintenance (October 13, 2021)
- During the event, all Travelers who log into Genshin Impact on the PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 system will be able to obtain Aloy directly through in-game mail.
Phase II
- After the Version 2.2 Update – Start of Version 2.3 Update Maintenance (November 24, 2021)
- During the event, Travelers who log into Genshin Impact on any available platform, and who have yet to obtain the character during Phase I will be able to obtain Aloy directly through in-game mail.
Genshin Impact is out on PC, PS4, PS5, Android, and iOS. The first major update ver 2.0 also includes the new Inazuma region, playable right now!
