A new player has entered the iOS 14 jailbreak field. The new jailbreak tool for iOS 14 to iOS 14.3 and iPadOS 14.0-14.3 is called Taurine. A few days ago developer CoolStar announced that the team is working on the upcoming Taurine tool. This jailbreak will work to liberate iOS 14 to iOS 14.3 from the Apple-imposed restrictions on how a user can interact with the mobile firmware on iPhone and iPad.
Since then, the unc0ver jailbreak has already made use of a custom kernel exploit based on cicuta_verosa that covers even the latest iPhone models like the iPhone 12 series, iPhone 11, and all devices launched since iPhone X.
Not only that, as it turned out, CoolStar in collaboration with the team behind the Odyssey jailbreak was also hard at work giving final touches to their own version of iOS 14.0-14.3 jailbreak using the same exploit.
Let take a look at more details about Taurine and how does it stack up against unc0ver.
What Is Taurine Jailbreak?
In the official announcement shared on Twitter recently, CoolStar shared a sneak peek of the Taurine jailbreak 2021 rendition. The teaser image shows the jailbreak’s app icon and the user interface. In case you’re wondering, the application icon features a meme face of Linus Tech Tips YouTube channel star Linus Sebastian.
Just like unc0ver, the Taurine jailbreak app will work with handsets ranging from iPhone X all the way up to the latest iPhone 12 models.
When it comes to the interface, most of the layout resembles the previous Odyssey jailbreak aesthetics apart from the addition of some new different background images, color patterns, and font sizes.
As far as settings are concerned, the list of options consists of the jailbreak setting menu, rootFS restoring, themes, and the standalone button for jailbreaking the device indicating whether the mobile is in a pwned state or not.
Besides the above changes, it is worth noting that the CoolStar team aims to ensure delivering the best user experience on a jailbroken device. As to how it plans to maintain consistently superior performance level remains to be seen as little is known whether Sileo is integrated with the tool or not. Our guess is that CoolStar will bake Sileo into the Taurine jailbreak tool largely due to its foundation based on Swift that presents a seamless user experience as opposed to Cydia.
Taurine Jailbreak Supported Devices:
As with all jailbreaks released in 2021, it should come as no surprise that Taurine will support iPhone and iPad running iOS or iPadOS 14-14.3 firmware.
Unlike checkra1n jailbreak, this iteration of iOS 14 jailbreak is not restricted to certain hardware types. This means it is possible to jailbreak iPhone 12 lineup provided the device is running a compatible operating system.

At the time of this writing, no concrete information is out as to the jailbreak launch date for the general public. That said, CoolStar has already pushed the beta version of the Taurine tool to internet testers. Initial positive feedback suggests that the tool is going to perform as intended on iPhone models running iOS 14 to iOS 14.3 firmware.
The delay due to early beta testing is to make sure that users get to experience a stable performance rather than the premature unveiling of a buggy beta to the public which often requires several succeeding updates to resolve unexpected issues.
Despite the delay, given that we have come this far into the development stage, the official ETA for a Taurine release should not be too far off. In the meanwhile, stay tuned as we will keep you informed with all the latest on this front.
