Apex Legends Mobile receives a new mobile-exclusive legend along with a brand new map next season. Respawn Entertainment formally introduces Rhapsody who brings along a deadly Bluetooth speaker robot sidekick named Rowdy. The battle royale game developer also shared a new trailer providing a glimpse of the main highlights for the next season of Apex Legends for Mobile. The upcoming season also gets a new mobile-only map, Pythas Block 0.

Launched in mid-May, the mobile version of the Apex Legends game is reaching its second season, titled Distortion. Fans of smartphone gaming would appreciate the arrival of a new exclusive character so soon after the official global launch. Although Respawn has balked at giving us a detailed overview of Rhapsody’s abilities, the trailer alludes to what you can expect from the new Legend.

From what we can gather from the video clip, the new character Rhapsody, also known as “a rhythm loving DJ,” enters the fray with “Rowdy,” who gives off Bluetooth speaker vibes that can also unleash a powerful finishing kick. Both DJ Rhapsody and sidekick Rowdy fight together.

The new entrant hails from Pythas, a tech conglomerate-dominated city. She goes to the nightlife district of her city to pursue her music career.

However, a sudden twist of fate hurls Rhapsody to Apex Games to pay off the family debt after her engineer mom is caught with classified company information.

As mentioned earlier, her abilities are shrouded in mystery as of this writing. But we can speculate that Rhapsody is capable of spawning a giant shield that can block enemy bullets and vision as well as distort sound in the surrounding area.

Whereas her robot friend, Rowdy, can finish off the power move with a sound blow. It is unknown what kind of perks Rhapsody will get and how it can utilize them to master combat.

In addition to Rhapsody, Apex Legends Mobiel gets a new mobile map. The Pythas Block 0 is based on a location with an overarching punk theme. It seems full of challenging obstacles and interesting points that are sure to elevate the fun factor around gunfights.

Apex Legends Mobile: Distortion season launches on 12 July on Android and iOS devices, about three months since the debut season kicked off. As the game is entirely separate from its PC and console counterparts, expect the new season pass, skins, emotes, trackers, events, outfits, and more to feature in season 2.
