Allow Apps Through The Firewall On Windows 10
In order to allow a trusted app to bypass the firewall restrictions on Windows 10, perform the following steps:
1 – Open Windows Defender Security Center.
2 – Click on Firewall & Network protection.
3 – Click the Allow an app through firewall link.
4 – Now click the Change settings button.
5 – Check the app or feature you want to allow through the firewall.
If the app isn’t on the list, click the Allow another app button to locate the application you want to allow.
6 – Now check the option to set which type of networks an app can access:
- Private network – Allows the app access to the network at home or work.
- Public network – Allows the app access to the network at a public place, such as in a coffee shop.
7 – Once done, hit OK button.
The select app can now access the network on your windows 10 device without bring blocked by the firewall.
If you want to block an through the firewall again, you can follow the above steps, but on step no. 5, make sure to uncheck the app or feature you want to deny access to the network.
